everyday with my son

Small stories of how it all went along

Archive for the month “March, 2016”

I was getting harsh to Kenzo and I felt I dont have anymore options to control him except being stern to him. Issues like hitting his brother and throwing tantrums are the two of the big challenges we both need to hurdle. I felt that he needed to be shaped. I tried passively talking to him, reasoning out, repetitive explanations, putting logic and story to my lessons and nothing seems to work. Kenzo really is very independent and strong-willed. I am now left without a choice but to show him tough love.

There were punishment I dished out like taking him to my room and he will be stucked there with me till he learned his mistake or he need to do some school work, read and those others school stuff to get his pass to get out.

Dishing out the discipline is a tough one and seeing him cry is a hard thing to swallow but then again I need to teach him and hopefully lead him to being a good adult someday.

I am sorry Kenzo for being harsh and for all the troublemeted to you. If I have a choice I can just ignore and pray all will be well but I cannot take that chance that you will end up undisciplined and rude. Again, sorry Kenzo.

Suddenly a burst of some words

In just a few days Liam has gotten some new words on his vocabulary and we were surprised and entertained by it.

Last holy Thursday and good friday we checked-in at Edsa Shangri-La and spent two whole days with Liam it was there that we really get to see how he squeezed in a few words and how he get the words that he wanted to say.

On that time, we saw him how he used words like no, mine, yes, wet, drink, bath etc and we to a certain degree were very happy that he was learning and improving his speech day by day.

Slowly a few words

Still quite worried that Liam’s vocabulary is progressing a bit slow compared to how Kenzo had been before. Just a few days now Liam have been adding a few words like wet, done, there, mine but his pronunciation is something that needs to be refined, to an outsider they might not be able to understand what he is saying as it is still just a bit understandable.

I know kids progress differently but I am really hoping one day he will wake up with a few more words added to what he knows now.

Liam is still very charming and his personality shines more than his brother. He is more of an extrovert and very easy going, even making him sleep or feeding is easy. We are still happy on how he is, we just cannot wait for the day where we can sit and just listen to him talk.

In a couple weeks we are gonna go to USA again (I have been doin this trip every year) I will be with Kenzo and his mum. It is going to be a different trip because it is t he first time that we are going to bring Kenzo. I am half excited and half worried because I still dont know how kenzo will react once he is there. I hope he will have all the fun but also concerned thgat he might miss Liam or get bored there. We have a few activities in line now like Fly High, Monterey, Legoland, Sta Cruz Beach, Playground, Swimming etc. It isĀ gonna be one fun time as long as he will be a good one rather than his spoiled self and bring a bit of a chaos.

As early as a few weeks back we have been briefing him on what and how he will be in US but still quite unsure whether will go thru as how we planned it.

Liam will still have to stay home and probably in 4 years we can all go back and enjoy the trip as a whole family.
